Evaluations
A successful end-of-the-year evaluation starts with strategic planning in the Fall. Our library’s goals and objectives are reviewed before school begins each year to ensure that information obtained from the previous Spring evaluation has been incorporated in a meaningful way that supports AASL standards.
As the SLMS, self-evaluation will be ongoing with a digital portfolio in place to demonstrate measurable, evidence-based practices. The library’s collection will be analyzed annually to examine student use and connections to grade-level learning targets. Students and teachers will complete surveys designed to measure attitudes towards, and use of, the library. Teachers will also be asked to evaluate me as a collaborative resource. Finally, the following tools from our state’s Professional Education Personnel Evaluation (PEPE) program will be utilized:
The data and feedback from these forms will be analyzed in May of each year so that recommendations and a strategic plan can be prepared for the following year.
